My daughter loves this bright, well balanced, and nutritious smoothie. I love using frozen cherries because they are already pitted and you can skip adding ice to your drink to make it cold. Plus, you can make it all year even when fresh cherries are not available. This is one of my go to smoothies. Definitely one to add to your favorites!

Ground flaxseed adds protein and kids don’t know it is in there.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I make this ahead of time?

I find drinking smoothies when they are blended taste best. But it won’t separate in the fridge if you need to save it for a little while.

Can I skip the flaxseeed?

Yes, this is still delicious without the flax. But, it does have several health benefits and protein so give it a try! I use Bob’s Red Mill ground flaxseed which is available in most grocery stores.

  • 1 1/2 cups frozen pitted cherries
  • 1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt, full fat or non-fat

  • 2 tsp. honey

Notes

Katie’s Tips:
*I used chocolate Fairlie for my kids. Chocolate marries well with the cherries, and they get even more protein.
*Adjust thickness for adding 1/3 cup more milk if necessary.
